As many of you know, Guild Wars 2 will launch tomorrow and people that pre-purchased it were able to play since the 25th. If you were insanely eager to play the game and you pre-purchased it, this post won't help you much but you are welcomed to post your opinion about the game.
I haven't gotten my hands on it simply because the beta week-ends didn't provide me with enough information for me to decided if it's worth my 60$. I dislike reviews so I decided to use forums to help me but I found out that there are a lot of mixed opinions ranging from "the best game ever" to "it isn't worth it".
I'll try to compile all the random posts and threads and let people decide for themselves if it's good or bad.
Three days into Guild Wars:
-ArenaNet is too trigger happy with bans - A single swear word or a name like "BruceLee" or "CuckNourish" will get you a 3day ban and a permanent ban after.
-There is no sub fee! - Pretty much that and it makes it awesome.
-The game is beautiful - Herp derp it's modern graphics on an MMO and the world is huge. You might want to lose yourself looking at it.
-There is no end game; the game is end game - there are no raids and the gear you get doesn't influence your character too much so you can wear what you like.
-Multiple ways to level - this sounds fun but if you choose only a single way to level you won't be able to do it. You have to choose things like PvP, crafting, exploring and some other things that aren't for everyone.
-Dynamic Events are easy - due to the fact that the game scales with the number of people around and they don't want it to be too hard, at the moment you can AFK and still get everything done.
-Dungeons are hard - Story mode is hard and Explorable is retardly hard. And they also are the entire PvE.
-PvP game - People feel that the game is too focused on the PvP side so that makes the PvE lackluster.
-There are 8 dungeons(32 paths) - This might seem like a low number but there are different paths to take in the dungeons so a single dungeon done 3 times could be different each time.
-Sidekicking - This makes you scale down to the level of the zone you are in. If you are level 80 and you go back to a level 5 zone, you will be scaled down to the point where you will fight the monsters as if you were level 5 (but a bit stronger).
-You can stand out - Even if the gear won't give you more power, the cosmetic factor is there and the hard to get loot will give you the "EPIC" feel again.
-You can't outgear dungeons - \o/ you won't miss your favourite dungeon because you are overgeared or too high leveled
-No resources - The game lacks resource management to the point that you only have to look out for your HP and cooldowns.
-Combat isn't too responsive - A lot of people say that the game isn't even close to the responsiveness they expected compared to other games.
-You lose the sense of leveling - "In GW2, I've completely ignored my level and just done the content, because the content... doesn't feel mindless or boring."
-No mounts - You get to teleport around the world but that won't ever be as awesome as running around on your tiger... or ARMORED WORM DRAGON WITH SPACE CANONS.
-No gear = Best gear EU! - If you start the game late, no one will care. The gear won't make a difference and only skill will say how good you are.
-Can't dodge in animations - "Combat control. I can go in with a main-hand sword and dagger, do combos and all, then I need to dodge but what happens? The toon is in the middle of a fancy combo and won't let me dodge away or even move at all."
Well, this kinda is all that I found and I could be bothered to copy-pasta. I have to say that in the meanwhile(while writing this) I did actually get Guild Wars 2. I also got a bit drunk so that might be why.
Hope this helps you decide if you want it or not.
